Babur B. Lateef, M.D.

Babur B. Lateef, M.D. earned a B.S. degree in Combined Science from Youngstown State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (formerly known as Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine).  He resides in Manassas, Virginia.

Dr. Lateef is a comprehensive ophthalmologist for Advanced Ophthalmology Inc.  He holds an academic appointment at the George Washington University School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology.  He also held an academic appointment at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital Department of Ophthalmology, serving as chief resident at the University of Rochester Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Lateef is a volunteer physician for both the Greater Prince William County Community Health Center and Prince William Area Free Clinic.  From 2014 to present, he has been recognized as Top Doctor in the Washingtonian Magazine.  From 2012 - present, he was recognized as a Top Doctor in Northern Virginia Magazine. 

He currently serves as chair of the Prince William County School Board.  He has been active in supporting the school system over many years as a member of the Board of Directors for the SPARK Foundation.

Dr. Lateef is married with four children.  His wife, Tarannum Lateef, is a pediatric neurologist in Northern Virginia.  

Dr. Lateef was appointed to the Board of Visitors by Governor McAuliffe in 2016 and reappointed by Governor Northam in 2020.
