Purpose: The Quality Subcommittee (QSC) of the Health System Board (HSB) is charged with reviewing outcomes and providing strategic oversight for the clinical quality and performance improvement activities within the University of Virginia health System, to include patient safety, the quality of clinical services, the adequacy of the environment of care, and patient experience. The QSC serves as a link between governance and senior management to assist the Health System in meeting its clinical outcomes goals. The QSC will make recommendations to the HSB and/or to the Health System Patient Safety and Quality Committee and the Chief Quality and Performance Improvement Officer as appropriate.
Membership: David O. Okonkwo, MD, PhD, who is a member of the HSB, is the Chair of the Subcommittee. Rosner, MD, CEO of UVA Health and Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, University of Virginia.

Term: The QSC will continue as deemed necessary by the Chair or Chairs of the HSB. The individual members of the Subcommittee will serve as designated by the Chair or Chairs of the HSB, or until they resign.
Meetings: The QSC shall meet quarterly or as otherwise deemed necessary by the Chair of the QSC.
