The Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia will meet on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) in the President’s Conference Room, Madison Hall, 1827 University Avenue, Charlottesville, Virginia. The purpose of the meeting is to receive briefings from law enforcement, emergency management officials, staff members, and legal counsel regarding an active shooter incident and subsequent investigation.
The meeting will be held in open and closed session. Following a motion to convene in closed session, members of the Board of Visitors will leave the open session and proceed in closed session. Following the closed session, the Board members will return to open session to certify that only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meetings requirements and which were identified in the motion authorizing the closed session were heard, discussed, or considered in closed session.
