Ms. Rachel W. Sheridan received her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1994, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia in 1998.
Ms. Sheridan is a partner in the Capital Markets Practice Group in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. She focuses her practice on capital markets transactions, representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies, issuers, investment banks, and public companies in a wide range of matters. She has extensive experience with public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, as well as buyout, liability management, restructuring, and SPAC transactions. She also regularly counsels public companies regarding their public reporting obligations, corporate governance matters, and other issues related to public company status.
Ms. Sheridan is the President and a Trustee of the UVA Virginia Athletics Foundation and a Trustee and Governing Board Member of the St. Alban’s School for Boys, Washington, D.C.
In 2018-2020 and 2022, Ms. Sheridan was named a recommended lawyer for Capital Markets by The Legal 500 United States. In 2021, she was named as a “Top Female M&A Lawyer in North America,” by MergerLinks. In 2013–2015, 2021–2024, Chambers USA, clients say that Rachel is ‘excellent, she is very smart, very practical and commercially oriented.
